Weekly Weigh-In: Getting Closer

Welcome to another Weekly Weigh-In. This is the time of year when I start feeling a little lonely on Wednesdays. Nobody wants to post their weigh-in results during the holidays.

I know sometimes it isn’t pretty and this time of year a week of maintaining is a victory, but whatever your results, knowing where you are helps you know if you need to adjust.

There’s no shame in determining that your holiday goal is maintaining your current weight-loss…but you need to make sure you’re doing that. Finding extra pounds on the scale in January isn’t any more fun than finding those credit card statements in the mailbox.

So, if you’ve been avoiding the scale, go take a quick peek and just assess where you are. We’ll wait.

I was a little worried about stepping on the scale yesterday after last week’s gain. Plus there was the fact that I didn’t feel like I’d done significantly better in my eating or workouts last week.

Apparently, I did something right, though because I lost 2 pounds! I was very pleasantly surprised. That puts me at 0.8 pounds from hitting the 90 pounds lost milestone. Um, yeah, guess what my goal is this week.

So, what about you? How did you do on the scale last week?

  1. Woo Hoo!!  That is awesome Kris!  How close does that put you to winning our comp?  I am going to have a loss as well this week- but my weigh in is not official until I go to my WW meeting later this morning.  (but a quick guess is I am down... 1.6 and need around 5 more for the win)
    This next week needs to be strong for me as then the company starts to come and it gets harder to stay strong.  Let's have a great week!!!

  2. Fantastic!! Go YOU! At your stage of the game, two pounds is monumental no matter what time of year.

    I lost .4 pounds this week. I'll take it.

  3. I maintained this week. Hoping for a loss when I weigh-in on Sunday. I peeked yesterday and I was excited to see that I am only .2 pounds from seeing the first number of my weight change. But I know
    my weight can fluctuate wildly from day-to-day so I'm not holding my breath on hitting any major milestones.

    Congrats on the 2 pounds!

  6. True. I wonder if it was "really" two pounds or just a slight loss and water-retention-recovery from last week. Either way, I'll take it! Congrats on your loss! At this time of year, any loss is something to celebrate.

  7. I just happend to come across your blog. I was actually looking at your review for Illuminations, when I say the link for this blog in the sidebar. I will be happy to weigh in with you! I lost 2.1 pounds this week, which brings my total to 30. I'm anxiously awaiting two more pounds, as 31 is the most weight I've ever lost before gaining some or all of it back. For me, getting beyond that number, is a positive sign that this time is for real, and I am not just dieting, but changing my whole lifestyle for good!

  8. Oh, I know exactly what you mean, Kristina. That was 38 pounds for me. Congrats on a great weight loss week! I hope the next two pounds comes off quickly, so you can have the confidence boost that comes from surpassing any previous efforts.

  9. Thank you!! I hope to have time in the next couple days to explore your blog some more. We took off too much time for Thanksgiving, so our Christmas break won't be as long. We may keep doing schoolwork right up to the time my parents get here. We'll see. The kids are hoping not! ;)
