Fit Stanley, Day 2

Fit Stanley wasn’t able to rouse me out of bed quite as easily yesterday. I knew it was an “at home” day with nowhere that we had to be and I wasn’t running, so there was no need to rush.

Our day started out with Kashi cereal, as usual. What can I say? I’m a creature of habit and the Kashi Honey Almond is yummy. After breakfast, it was time to hit the bike, which I totally enjoy because I always watch Friends while I ride.

Of course, we couldn’t both ride the bike at the same time, so Fit Stanley hit the weights for a bit.

After a workout, shower, and a little housework, Fit Stanley was ready to help with the biggest part of my day: schooling the kids.

We had chicken quesadillas, Spanish rice, and black beans for lunch…and more of that heavenly sweet tea. I’m not sure that Fit Stanley was as excited about the mail day as I was – he might have been a little embarrassed.

I was thrilled, though. I had to return the sports bra and workout pants that I won from Faith, Fitness, Fun recently because I managed to order the wrong size. They didn’t have my size in the sports bra, though, so they sent me three to replace it so that I could find one that I like!

That works for me! I’m so excited about the pants. I ordered a large because they’re made to fit snugly and I was afraid a medium would be too tight. I wound up with a small!

After school was over, Fit Stanley and I spent some time cleaning house – dusting, vacuuming, cleaning the bathroom, and doing a couple of loads of laundry. Did you know that vacuuming burns about 230 calories an hour? Light cleaning, like dusting, straightening up or taking out the trash, burns around 170 calories an hour.

Housework isn’t my favorite thing, but at least it has some redeeming qualities.

I hope Fit Stanley is reading for our run here in a little while. Eleven miles. Think he’ll make it?

Do or do not. There is no try.

  2. Yes, that is a LOT of fun. And, hey, we made our 11 miles and it was easier than last time. Always a good thing.

  3. Reading some blogs before I start my school day with my son. At last another blogging, weight losing, home educator! Love it. I like the cleaning house info too. I hate that part of my day - but it sounds like a nice little workout. Now I just have to go do it......
