New Year's Resolutions

IMG_2432Tomorrow is the day – the one you’ve been talking about since Thanksgiving.  Tomorrow is the day that you start making changes to create a new you – a thinner, healthier, happier you.  Will you do more than resolve to do it this time?  Will you do more than commit?  Will you begin the first day of many more days of consistency to make your goals happen?

Commitments don’t equal results.  Consistency does.

This is the year to do or do not.  There is no try.

I know you can do it!  I look forward to sharing the journey with you.

  1. OK, Kris, I'm on board- I've been reading your HS blog (because I HS my 6 and 8 year old girls and need all of the support I can get), I LOVE Twilight (much to my chagrin), and I'm attempting to get my weight loss momentum back on track after losing 15 lbs last year and gaining 5 over Christmas.

I'm at 157 today and want to be at 140 or a little under (to maintain my weight at under 140, even if it's 139.9). I'm going to make a point of trying to log in here every day (or maybe a little less) with my number from that day's Wii time (which is how I lost the weight the first time)... I can be accountable to you- a complete stranger because I hate talking about this with my friends/family. You see, I'm pretending I'm not fat and maybe they won't notice if I don't point it out.

I promise to not be this wordy every day!

  2. Shayne,

You can be as wordy as you like. It doesn't bother me at all. ;-) (Probably because I tend to be pretty wordy myself.)

I'm just the opposite of you: I was so heavy that I was constantly pointing it out to people with kind of a "beat 'em to the point" mindset. I'm not sure that either mindset is best for us, emotionally.

But, hey, now you've got a place where you can talk about it as much as you like. I'll be glad to hold you accountable.

Best wishes! And, have fun on the Wii. I love Wii Fit!

  3. Hi Kris

Jan.2 155lb- I love how water weight, an earlier time of day and lighter clothing gives me a big start off boost :)

I've been on my new Wii Active 2 twice now and it has already kicked my (sore) butt. I strongly dislike (read hate) exercise!

  4. That's great, Shayne! I always weigh in the morning (I'm always about 2 lbs. heavier at night) and in my workout clothes...and before breakfast! ;-)

I've been at this for over a year and I'm still not one of those people who have discovered a love of exercising. I love the results and I love the way I feel when it's over, but that's the best I can say about it.

  5. Tomorrow is the day!!! I am starting my new lifestyle! I gained 5.6 pounds in the 2 weeks I was out of town. UGH! I deserved to have gained even more though. Two weeks of eating whatever I wanted in homes filled with goodies and NO activity. Tomorrow will hurt, but there will be healthier foods and exercise! I am excited to meet the new me by the end of 2011!!!!!! No trying to do it this time! I WILL DO THIS!!!!!
