Weekly Weigh-In: Still Plugging Away

This week's lost wasn't a big loss, but it was a loss -- 0.8 pounds.  Almost a full pound.  Almost 4 sticks of butter.

My brother was in town yesterday.  I hadn't seen him since Christmas.  He was quick to notice that I'd lost a lot of weight since I saw him last.  I was talking with him about my weight loss and one of the things I mentioned was how it's slowed down.  He said, "Yeah, but you know you can do it now, because you've already done it."

That's exactly how I feel about it.  Even on the weeks when the loss is slow, I know it's happening.  I know I can get the other 37 pounds off because I've already gotten 58 off.  That's a good feeling to know that I'm getting there, though sometimes the progress is slow.

And, if I'm honest with myself, I know the progress is slow because I've slacked off my workout schedule.  I'm not especially worried about that right now, though.  I know that once we get back on our regular school routine, I'll get back to a more regular workout routine.  At least, I'm pretty sure I will.  Either way, though, as long as I'm still losing, I'm headed in the right direction.  I feel so much better than I ever dreamed possible and I have no desire to go back to being that grossly overweight person, so I know that I'm going to keep chipping away at that last 37 pounds and it will come off.

How's the scale been treating you lately?

  1. Your brother encouraged me as well. :) I love what he said. We've already taken some weight off, so we CAN make it to our finish line! I needed that right now!

  2. Yay for you!!!! What a great attitude!

I let my sub. to BB expire because I just don't have it in me to do it right now. Until my attitude improves, I'll just work at maintaining my current weight.

  3. Congrats on all you hard work! I find some of my commitments to be a little easier too when the kids are in school and we have a regular routine.

  5. I haven't been on the scale in two months. I am afraid. I really need to set some goals and get started on this journey. I've been dragging my feet.
