Plastic Surgery

Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

I used to think that I wouldn't.  Then, I started thinking about when I get down to my goal weight.  I've had two c-sections.  The first was an emergency one and the doctor was going for fast, not straight.  From that point on, my little belly flab was crooked...until I got so much belly flab that you couldn't tell anymore.

Now I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe, when I get down to a decent size again, I might consider a tummy tuck.  I don't know if I actually would or not, but for the first time ever, I think I'd seriously consider it.

What about you?  Would you ever consider plastic surgery of any sort?

  1. That's a tough one. The only surgery I ever had was an appendectemy when I was only 19. It was a small scar until my first pregnancy and now it's a big Z like Zorro lol. I wish I had the guts (no pun intended) and the money to have a tummy thing done but I'm a big poor baby. :)

  2. Yes - a tummy tuck after my babies are all born and I've lost the weight. The skin that has been stretched by untold pregnancies and pounds is never going to go back, so I would definitely consider it then.

  3. I definitely would consider plastic surgery. There are things I would consider doing and things I wouldnt. Like lipo, thats just laziness. Work out,eat right, and get the fat off that way. Don't be lazy and just go have it sucked out. Ontheother hand I have had four children and no matter how much weight I lose I can never unstretch the streched out skin that is left. I can not fix the seperation of my ab muscles that tends to happen after multiple pregnancy's.Those are things that only plastic surgery could correct and I would consider having that kind of plastic surgery.

  4. I'm glad it's not just me, Tristan. I read that, once you have a tummy tuck, even if you gained weight again, then, lost it, you probably wouldn't ever need to have another one.

Of course, I don't plan on gaining the weight back. I just thought that was an interesting factoid.

  5. I will highly considerate it when I reach my goal weight. I've had 3 c-sections and could use a new tummy!

  6. HI! I've followed your homeschool blog for a while now, but just discovered your weight loss blog! I'll be linking to it in my Making Over Me blog (http://makingoverme.blogspot.com) too, as I am on the quest to Drop Down 100!
In answer to your question, I, like you, used to think I'd never get plastic surgery...but if I meet my goal of 100 pounds in 1 year, I have a feeling I may want to tighten a few things up too...so I'm not ruling it out!

  7. I told my ob that she could throw in a tummy tuck when she did my c-section but she just laughed.

I don't know if I would consider it as a separate surgery. I hate pain so I would really need to need it. So the short version is, I don't know.

  8. @ Christi -- I tried that with my OB, too. She had the same reaction. ;-)

@ Minn. Mami -- Thanks for linking. I'll be checking out your new blog. Good luck on your weight loss journey!

  9. First I want to say that I love both of your blogs!
I wanted to comment on this post because it is a subject that is near and dear for me. About 4 years ago I dropped 140 lbs with weight watchers (I started at 292 lbs). At my lowest point I was a comfortable size 8. The problem was, even at a size 8 I NEVER felt thin because of the loose skin. To work so hard and loose so much and to still feel fat was REALLY hard. I did regain about 50lbs (which I am once again on my way to losing). I wear a elastic back support when I work out to keep the loose skin from jiggling (It really hurts). Having said all that, I know now, that I will probably never elect to have a tummy/thigh tuck. The reason is that I would rather be healthy and alive to enjoy life and my family than risk my life for the sake of flab! Surgery is a very real risk and I decided it is just not worth it. For the record, when I was a size 8 the loose skin was actually less of an issue than at my current size 14 (but I didn't realize that until I regained), and for the record, I have also had 2 C-sections. Sorry this post is so long but as I said, the topic really hits home for me!!

  10. I had a tummy tuck. It was thrown in when I had my c-section scar redone because of endromitreosis. If I had known I would have refused. It has been nice now that it is healed. But the recovery was so painful.
